Imaginarium Activity Centers Recalled
The Imaginarium Activity Centers look like a great educational toy for children. One side is complete with various beads, arranged in an abacus style, while the other side displays rows of blocks that feature numbers, letters, and simple pictures. The other Imaginarium Activity Center boasts a jungle theme and comes with sliding beads and block animals that provide children with countless hours of entertainment. However, both activity centers have been recalled due to choking hazards.
Products Affected by the Recall
The Imaginarium Activity Centers were sold between August 2007 and February 2008 through Toys R Us. An estimated 16,000 units were sold and the products complete names are the Imaginarium Multi-Sided Activity Centers and the Jungle Activity Centers. Neither of the Activity Centers has their product numbers stamped on the item; the numbers are stamped on the product boxes. If you believe that you have one of these activity centers and have thrown the packaging away, you will need to make a visual comparison. Otherwise, the Imaginarium Multi-Sided Activity Centers product number imprinted on the package reads 69042 and a SKN of 768957. The product code for the Jungle Centers is 69083 and the SKN is 065280. Both Activity Centers were manufactured in China.
Choking Hazards
As with any toy given to infants or young children, parents must always be cautious and stay alert for possible dangers. Any time a toy contains small parts the toy is a potential choking hazard. If children can pull the toy apart and remove those pieces they may place them in their mouth and choke. As to date, their have been twelve reports of children removing the small beads and blocks from the Imaginarium Activity Centers provoking this recall. Any part that is smaller than 2 inches in length and 1 ¾ inches in diameter are choking hazards.

If you believe that your child has either of the Imaginarium Activity Centers, you are advised to remove the toys from your child immediately and return it to your local Toys R Us store. The toys range in cost from $20.00-$50.00 and you’ll receive a refund or store credit.
